Known for his use of "light and shadow", he has always been able to immortalize buildings by adding energy and poetry to them.Complex works such as the recently designed Sifang Contemporary Art Museum in Nanjing, China, and the Maritime Museum in Biarritz, south-west France, offer visitors a sense of the revelatory nature of advanced design and a stunning sense of peace, appeal and understanding.
